Additional materials or case studies are presented at selected chapter ends, provided for deeper insights into programming and computers. There is an emphasis on design, to assist with developing programs. A great deal can be achieved with BASIC using design techniques. BASIC language elements are presented critically and set in the wider context of modern language developments.
